How to Make Heart-Shaped Bacon

Jump to Recipe

For the love of bacon! What better way to show your people just how much you love them than with heart-shaped bacon?! The simple trick of shaping bacon strips into heart shapes and baking them to crispy deliciousness is love served at its best!

How to Make Heart-Shaped Bacon

We bake some bacon for breakfast and brinner several times each week, so the simple step of shaping it into hearts makes our regular bacon enjoyment extra special. We all went crazy over the plate of heart-shaped bacon the first time I made it and now heart-shaped bacon is all the kids want. Haha!

How to Make Heart-Shaped Bacon

If ever bacon could be cute, this is the way! It’s so simple and makes eating bacon all the more amazing.

Let me show you just how easy it is to make heart-shaped bacon!

Watch this video to see the simple steps or keep scrolling for step-by-step images and instructions…

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F. Line a large rimmed baking pan with foil or parchment paper and set a baking rack into the pan. Spray the baking rack generously with non-stick cooking spray.

Using long strips of bacon, I use the uncured dry rubbed bacon from Trader Joe’s, form each slice into the shape of a heart by folding it in half and then folding the ends in so they curve to look like a heart. Pinch the two ends together within the heart and also pinch the bottom of the heart shape together so it stays pointed.

How to Make Heart-Shaped Bacon

Place the bacon in the oven for just 2-3 minutes to soften it a bit. Using an oven mit, remove the pan of bacon from the oven and reinforce the heart shape on any bacon hearts that need reinforcing so they keep the heart shape as the continue to bake. The bacon shouldn’t be too hot at this point so you should be able to easily reinforce the shape with your fingers.

Return the bacon to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until of desired crispness. Rotate the pan halfway through the baking time so the bacon hearts bake evenly.

And that’s all there is to it! Serve it immediately or keep in a warming oven until ready to serve. The bacon should be crisp enough to hold its shape very well when transferred and picked up to eat.

How to Make Heart-Shaped Bacon

Bacon at its best, y’all! So easy, so fun, and of course, yummy yum! Enjoy!

I think you have enough Valentine’s ideas to publish a book on them. Perhaps you can write 4 more books-one for each season and include the holidays for that season-and fill each book with all of these cool ideas.
