- Large strawberries (the pointier the better!)
- Chocolate melting wafers
- White vanilla flavored melting wafers
- Pink gel food coloring
- Valentine’s Day-themed nonpareil mix, for decorating
Supplies:
- Small, sharp knife
- Deep, microwave safe bowls
- Whisk
- Fondue fork or skewer (or regular fork)
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet

How to Make Heart-Shaped Chocolate Covered Strawberries
- Wash and dry the strawberries. Using a small, sharp knife, cut a small V-shape slice into the top center of each strawberry, removing the stem.
- Melt the wafers according to package directions in deep bowls or jars for dipping. Whisk a few drops of the pink gel food coloring to the melt white wafers until of desired pinkness.

- Using a fondue fork, skewer, or regular fork inserted into the bottom of the strawberry.

- Dip into the melted wafers and let any excess drip off.

- Transfer dipped strawberries to a parchment-lined sheet pan and decorate accordingly with a chocolate or pink drizzle or festive sprinkles. If wanting to drizzle the melted wafers, transfer some to a plastic baggie and cut off a small triangle from the bottom corner of the bag to make it easier to drizzle evenly.
- Let set at room temperature until the chocolate is set.

Storage
Store chocolate covered strawberries in a single layer, covered loosely for air circulation so they don’t sweat, in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
