Doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day to show some food love! Heart Shaped Strawberries add a sweet touch to any meal, special occasion or not! I add heart slices to my kids’ oatmeal or granola, and place halved heart strawberries on snack boards. It’s such a cute touch! And it takes so little effort!

What Do I Need to Make Heart Shaped Strawberries?

  • Large, pointed strawberries
  • Sharp paring knife or utility knife
  • Cutting board

How to Make Heart Shaped Strawberries

  • Wash and dry the strawberries well.
  • To make heart strawberry halves, slice the strawberry in half lengthwise using a small, sharp knife (like a paring knife or a utility knife).
  • Place the strawberry half, sliced side down, on a cutting board.
  • At the top center of each strawberry half, cut a small V-shape.
  • Perfect the heart shape by trimming the strawberry with the sharp knife, if necessary.

  • To make heart shaped strawberry slices, cut a V-shape into the top of the whole strawberry with a small sharp knife3, removing the stem and the V-shape.
  • Trim the tops with the knife to make the edges more rounded, if necessary.
  • Slice each strawberry into 3-4 thin slices, each about 1/8 inch thick.

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries well.
