I thought my days of creating new cinnamon roll recipes might be behind me. But maybe the best is yet to come! These Cinnamon Roll Pigs in a Blanket are so fun and yummy–they make a special occasion breakfast even sweeter!
I’ll admit they might be a little…much. And I can’t wait to roll out these new treats at Christmas breakfast! That’s what the holidays are all about, right? Being a little over the top! I know the kids will love the salty sausage wrapped up in a sweet, sticky cinnamon roll. I’m pretty sure you will, too!

What Do I Need to Make Cinnamon Roll Pigs in a Blanket?
- 1 (17.5 ounce) can Jumbo Grands! Cinnamon Rolls with icing. They must be the LARGE SIZE canned cinnamon rolls that you can unroll. Any brand like Pillsbury Grands!, Annie’s Organic, Trader Joe’s Jumbo or other store brand cinnamon rolls should work great, just as long as they’re the jumbo size.
- 10 uncooked pork sausage links. Your favorite brand of breakfast sausage links should work just fine!
A Simple Icing Recipe
Store bought cinnamon rolls come with their own icing. But just in case that’s not enough, here’s and easy recipe to make a simple icing. It works great as a glaze for cinnamon rolls and other baked goods.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1/3 cup of milk.
- Whisk until thin and of drizzling consistency. If it gets too thick, add a little more milk. If it’s too thin, whisk in a little more powdered sugar.
How to Make Cinnamon Roll Pigs in a Blanket
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Unravel each cinnamon roll and cut into 4 equal portions about 5.5 inches long each. Reserve the icing.
- Cut each pork sausage link in half crosswise.
- Wrap each cinnamon roll portion tightly around the sausage link half several times.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side-down.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until light golden brown.
- Heat cinnamon roll icing in the microwave for 10 seconds. Drizzle and spread some icing over each bite so the cinnamon roll is covered in it.
- Serve with remaining icing for dipping.
