Adding to the Collection

I thought I was done creating recipes with store-bought cinnamon rolls. In fact, I started building my cruffin recipe collection, using store bought crescent dough, because I’d run out of ideas. Turns out, I was wrong! These cinnamon roll waffles were meant to be!

Golden on the outside with that sweet crunch you crave. Soft and hot in the middle. And when you drizzle that icing on top, they make absolute breakfast magic. You have to make these! I promise you will not regret it!

What Do I Need to Make Canned Cinnamon Roll Waffles?

How to Make Canned Cinnamon Roll Waffles

  • Heat your waffle maker to medium.
  • Spray the waffle maker on both sides with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place a cinnamon roll in each square or circle of the waffler maker.

NOTE: This will, depend on how large and how many waffles your waffle maker holds. One of my waffle makers has two large squares so we make two at a time and our other waffle maker has one large circle so we can only make one at a time in it.

  • Close the waffle make and press down to flatten the cinnamon roll slightly.
  • Allow the cinnamon rolls to cook until golden brown and cooked all the way through, about 2-3 minutes. The rolls should be crisp on the outside and soft in the center.

  • Keep the cooked cinnamon roll waffles in a 200°F oven while you cook the remaining cinnamon rolls.

  • When ready to serve, drizzle the reserved cinnamon roll icing over each cinnamon roll waffle.

How to Make Cinnamon Roll Waffles Using Jumbo Sized Rolls

Follow the same directions for making the cinnamon roll waffles. The only difference is jumbo sized or Grands! cinnamon rolls will make 5 waffles per can (versus 8 of the regular size).

How to Serve and Store Cinnamon Roll Waffles

Store iced or un-iced cinnamon roll waffles in an airtight container or baggie in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

To freeze, allow iced or un-iced waffles to cool completely. Then place in a freezer-safe container or in individual freezer-safe baggies. Store in the freezer for up to two months.

To reheat: When ready to eat, place the iced or un-iced waffles in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for about 20 seconds (30 seconds from frozen) or until heated through. Or reheat un-iced waffles in the oven at 300°F for about 5 minutes (10 minutes from frozen) until heated through.

My favorite way to reheat un-iced waffles is in the toaster. Just pop them in and toast them until slightly crisp on the outside and heated through. You can drizzle with a simple icing or smear with jam.
