So Easy, So Delicious

The idea is to make one easy, delicious cookie dough base. Then simply divide that dough between six smaller bowls (cereal bowls work great!), and add your pre-measured mix ins. Each flavor bakes up so perfectly delicious. Crisp on the outside while super chewy within. And the flavors are spot one for each one. They taste exactly like what you’d expect them to. They’re incredible!

Did I mention you can have them made and out of the oven in about 30 minutes? THAT is a holiday miracle.

Mix-in Math

Each cookie flavor has just the right amount of mix-ins measured out. If you want to omit one flavor of cookie, just use double the mix-ins of another flavor. It’s so easy!

Chocolate Chip M&M = 1/4 cup chocolate chips + 1/4 cup M&Ms

Caramel Pecan Chocolate Chunk with Sea Salt: 1/4 cup caramel bits + 1/4 cup chopped pecans + 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks + 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Snickerdoodle = 1 tablespoon granulated sugar + 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Holiday Sprinkles = 1/3 cup red and green sprinkles

Cranberry White Chocolate Macadamia Nut = 1/4 cup dried cranberries+1/4 cup macadamia nuts + 1/4 cup white chocolate chips

Peanut Butter Kiss = 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter + 9 Hershey’s Kisses

How to Make Holiday Cookie Bars

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13″ x 18″ sheet pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugars until well combined. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  • With the mixer on low speed, beat in the flour, baking soda and salt until combined.
Steps to make dough for holiday cookie bars.
  • Add 3/4 cup of cookie dough to 6 different bowls. Place the ingredients for each flavor in each of the bowls with the dough and stir to combine well.

NOTE: For the Peanut Butter Kiss cookies, save the Hershey’s Kisses to top that section with after baking. For the Caramel Pecan Chocolate Chunk, save the flaky sea salt to sprinkle on that section until after baking. For the Snickerdoodle, save some of the cinnamon sugar mixture to sprinkle on the dough after you’ve pressed it into the pan.

  • Place each ball of mixed cookie dough into a sixth of the prepared sheet pan.
  • Press the cookie doughs down evenly, with your hands, to fill the sixth of the sheet pan that each cookie dough is in. Each cookie dough should be pressed up next to the other cookie doughs that are beside it to fill the entire sheet pan.
  • Garnish each square of cookie dough with additional toppings for that dough, if desired.

  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted in the center of the cookie bars comes out clean. Try not to over-bake them if you want them to be chewy.
  • Once the cookie bars are baked, immediately press the Hershey’s Kisses into the peanut butter square and then sprinkle the Caramel Pecan Chocolate Chunk section with sea salt.
  • Let the cookie bars cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

How to Store Holiday Cookie Bars

Store cookie bars in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

To freeze, wrap cookie bars individually in plastic wrap then put in a freezer-safe container or in individual freezer-safe baggies

To defrost, let them set at room temperature, uncovered, so they don’t absorb too much moisture.

  1. I have made these are they are yummy. Can I take this same recipe and instead of bars-make cookies? I want to make the variety but thought cookies would be better for grands and my sanity. I love the variety since everyone loves something different!

    1. Hi, Debi! Yes, you could, but it would take many more than one baking, as you would have to space out your cookies. Let me know how it goes!
