Perfectly Scoopable Guacamole

I swear, this is the best guacamole you will ever eat. It’s slightly chunky and full of flavor! I use fresh, finely-chopped fixings like mild red onion and tons of chopped cilantro for great, tangy flavor and texture. Notice there are no tomatoes invited to this party! You’ll thank me. And once you stir in that fresh minced garlic, diced jalapeño (leave seeds out for less spice), fresh lime juice and salt to taste, you won’t be able to keep away. It honestly couldn’t be easier or any more perfect! Serve with Baked Corn Tortilla Chips for even more yum!

What Do I Need to Make the Perfect Guacamole?

  • Large ripe avocados, pitted and peeled
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, finely chopped
  • Red onion, finely chopped
  • Fresh lime
  • Garlic, minced
  • Jalapeno, stem removed and minced (keep seeds for spiciness if desired)
  • Kosher salt, plus more if needed

How to Make the Perfect Guacamole

In a large mixing bowl, lightly mash the avocados, leaving some chunks. My personal favorite way to get the perfect combination of creamy and chunky consistency for guacamole is to use a pastry cutter.

Add the cilantro, onion, lime juice, garlic, jalapeño, and salt. Stir together until well combined. Season with more lime juice and/or salt, if needed.
