What to Serve with Pizza Toast?
For lunch, I usually put out veggies and hummus to go with it. And for an after-school snack, I cut each toast into fourths and serve it with fruit. They’re easy to make, easy to eat and easy to clean up after. For dinner, I’ll serve it alongside a big salad. Like this one!
Chopped Caesar Salad
Crisp romaine, salty parmesan and a flavorful dressing tossed with crunchy homemade croutons. This Chopped Caesar Salad is an easy, straight-forward recipe that is sure to become your go-to salad.

Fun and Flexible
I try to always have sandwich bread, pizza sauce (or marinara sauce), mozzarella cheese and mini pepperoni on hand so I can make these anytime we want them. I love that I can make just one or a dozen of them depending on how many I want to serve. And you can adjust the toppings however you’d like.
We usually keep it pretty simple with cheese and pepperoni, but I can see how some peppers, fresh basil, mushrooms, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, and even pineapple (did I just start a fight 😜) could dress these up quite nicely.

Just grab your favorite pizza toppings and go for it! You can even make these on sourdough, if you have it on hand. It’s a fun and flexible recipe you’re sure to make over and over again!
This is great recipe to make with your kids or better yet, let your kids make themselves. So so yummy!

rack closest to top? and how much soduim would this contain?
Hi, Chris! I tend to use the second rack from the top. As for sodium, I don’t provide nutritional information at this time. To find out, I would recommend plugging the ingredients you use into a free online recipe nutrition calculator like: https://whisk.com/recipe-nutrition-calculator/ Hope this helps. Enjoy! ❤️
I love it. I thought it was awesome. Thanks.
Hi, BakerMama! I am in fourth grade and I just started cooking like, on my own, with ovens and toasters and blenders, making food for myself. I’ve always looked at other pizza toast recipes, but none of them were as easy and accurate as yours! Thanks!
Hi, Eva! My goodness, I’m so proud of you! That’s a very important skill to have and I’m always happy to welcome young cooks into the kitchen. Thank you so much. I am very glad you enjoy the pizza toast! ❤️
Hi BakerMama, Last night I needed a quick meal. These were sooooo easy and they did the trick. Thanks for a recipe that helped me out. I told my kids how I thought you might have come up with this quick recipe out of necessity.
Hi, Dezi! You are absolutely correct 😂 I am so glad y’all enjoyed it.

This is such a good idea! I’ve always done “homemade” pizza with French bread or dough of some sort but this is so easy!
Try on naan bread for more of a pizza taste …used Italian bread was ok , going to stick with naan if I a make again
Hi, John. I haven’t tried it on naan. But now I have to!
The pizza bread came out burned a little, maybe next time I will try 375 deg instead of 400
Hi, Jen! What rack did you bake it on? That might have something to do with it, too! I’ve found it helpful to test my oven with an oven thermometer from time to time to gauge whether it’s heating evenly and accurately. Might be worth a try!
Soft flour tortillas also work
Yes! I actually have the soft flour tortilla version in my Spectacular Spreads cookbook as well as on my Valentine’s Day Dinner Board! Enjoy!
Look amazing. I will try to do for my kid. super easy to follow!
What a simple and nice recipe! Tasty and crunchy, appeal to both children and adults.
I have been searching for some recipes for my family. Finally found this one and made it yesterday for my family. They liked it! Thanks for your sharing.
I looked at it and my mouth watered cant wait to get home at make it!
My dad and I are both on disability. A lot of times it can be difficult to get up and cook dinner. This would be a great thing to make ahead of time and freeze. What instructions can you give me to cook them straight out of the freezer? Temperature, cook time, etc.
Hi Renee! That’s such a great idea to bake and freeze them for easy reheating. I would recommend baking them and then letting them cool before placing in individual freezer-safe baggies to store in the freezer for up to 1 month. When you’re ready to enjoy, place the frozen pizza toast on a baking sheet in the oven and then set the oven to 350 degrees so the pizza toast starts to defrost as the oven heats. Once the oven is heated, check the pizza toast every few minutes as they usually take about 3-5 minutes to reheat. You could also reheat them in a toast oven or in the microwave, but they wouldn’t be as crispy in the microwave. I hope this helps and that you and your dad enjoy!
So tasty, and truly the perfect bite for both kids and adults! 🙂
What a great family dinner option for pizza night! It’d be fun to do a topping bar and have everyone create their own.
This looks so delicious! Your photos are just gorgeous too Alida! (as usual!) I love that the kids love doing the videos with you. So fun!

Amazing pizza toast recipe. I really love this amazing recipe and want to cook it. Thanks for sharing such an awesome recipe.
Made these for the first time tonight. So good! The second pan I made, I didn’t cook the toast for 5 minutes before because it burnt the toast cooking it the second time. Adding the toppings and then popping the toast in for 6 mins Makes them perfect!

Maegan : Love your creative, outside the box ideas/recipes ! ! I cook at a group home for teens and many of your recipes are fun for teens. I will try the ???? toast cut into small triangles, veggies and dip for snack time. Thank you for sharing your ideas/recipes. Much appreciated ! !
Can you freeze these in baggies for quick heat ups for after school?
Hi Caryn! Absolutely! Such a great idea! Definitely freeze them in individual baggies and then put on a pan and set the oven to 350 letting the toast heat up as the oven preheats. When the oven comes to 350, the toast should be done or almost done. Enjoy!
The mini pepperonis. So much cuteness. And so much cheesy deliciousness. Not sure why I haven’t tried this before, but I’m SO glad I found your post! Truly a snackspiration!
