One batch of fresh Homemade Ranch Dressing and it will hard to go back to the stuff in the bottle. Before you say you don’t have time, I’m here to say, you are not prepared for how easy this is to make. And once you taste this ranch dressing recipe, you’ll skip the store-bought from here on out.
There’s almost nothing my kids (okay, not just the kids) won’t dip in ranch dip or dressing. Chicken nuggets and chicken wings, veggies, and even pizza. We top our baked potatoes with it and smother our salads in it. We’re ranch dressing connoisseurs over here.
And this absolutely is one of our favorite homemade salad dressings. So much better than store bought (no offense, Hidden Valley Ranch).

How to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing
- Prep your ingredients by mincing the garlic and chopping the fresh dill and chives.
- Juice the lemon and set the juice aside.
- Then, in a medium mixing bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients until smooth.
- Season to taste with more salt and pepper, if desired.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Store leftover ranch salad dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. Stir well before serving. I generally do not recommend freezing as separation can occur.

- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives
