Happy Memorial Day weekend!
We’re looking forward to a relaxing weekend with absolutely no plans. No ball games, no birthday parties, no dinner parties, no date nights out, no nothing…just us waking up each morning and saying, “Hey, what do we want to do today?!” Love it and so looking forward to it!
We may not have grand activities planned, but I guarantee we’ll have great food. We’ll probably grill out every day, eat a few watermelons poolside and snack our way through a big batch of this patriotic snack mix. For the most deliciously addicting sweet and salty snack mix your hands will ever reach into. The kids just love it!

Here’s what you need to make this mix!
- Chex Rice Cereal
- Cheerios
- pretzels snaps
- dry roasted peanuts
- vanilla candy coating
- red, white and blue sprinkles
- red, white and blue M&M’s
- red, white and blue Peanut M&M’s
How to Make this Patriotic Party Mix
In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, Cheerios, pretzels and peanuts.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the almond bark or candy coating according to package directions, usually 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth. Be sure not to over melt the almond bark as it will burn and become too thick to stir and coat the mix evenly.
Pour the melted almond bark over the ingredients in the large bowl and toss to coat with a large spoon. Ingredients should be evenly coated in the almond bark.
Spread the mixture out in an even layer on parchment paper or wax paper. Immediately sprinkle with the sprinkles and then the M&M’s. Allow mixture to cool completely. Break apart to serve. Store in an airtight container or baggie. For extra patriotic flair, serve in a star-shaped serving bowl.
No Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day celebration would be complete without a big bowl of this patriotic party mix for everyone to enjoy! Hi! Can this all be done in a crock pot?
Hi Nina! I don’t think it would be necessary to make this in a crockpot because you don’t want the other ingredients to cook. You really just need to melt the white chocolate coating. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
Super easy and very pretty!

What kind of Chex and Cheerios do you use ?
Hi Jennifer! I use Rice Chex and regular Cheerios, but you could certainly use other flavors if you want. Enjoy!
How many servings does this make?
Hi Kelly! It makes 12 cups. Enjoy!
Love this recipe- make it every 4th! I’ve always made it the day of and of course it’s gone by evening so am wondering- how long would it keep? I need to make it ahead of time this year!
Hi Heather! It keeps great for at least a week, if not longer! Ours has kept for up to 2 weeks if stored in a sealed container, but it doesn’t usually last that long because we devour it within days. Haha! Have a great 4th of July! Enjoy!
Just made this for 4th and excited to serve it tomorrow. Wanted to attach a photo 😞 Thanks
