Of course, fresh donuts work, too. But if you’ve got a box of day-old Krispy Kreme donuts, I can’t think of a better way to use them!

We love to top ours with a little butter, warm maple syrup and fresh blueberries or strawberries. But eating them warm from the waffle iron without any toppings is just as heavenly!

How to Store Donut Waffles

To store leftover donut waffles, place them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to five days.

To freeze, allow waffles to cool completely. Then place in a freezer-safe container or in individual freezer-safe baggies. Store in the freezer for up to two months.

To reheat: When ready to eat, place donut waffles in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for about 20 seconds (30 seconds from frozen) or until heated through. Or reheat un-iced waffles in the oven at 300°F for about 5 minutes (10 minutes from frozen) until heated through.
