What Do I Need to Make Cheeseburger Bun Pizzas?
- Hamburger buns
- White onion
- Garlic
- Ground beef
- Salt and pepper
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Dill pickles
- Bacon bits
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- Sweet relish
- Spicy brown mustard
How to Make Cheeseburger Bun Pizzas
- Prepare special sauce by whisking together the ketchup, mayonnaise, relish and spicy brown mustard until well combined. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Separate the buns and place each half, middle side up, on a large baking sheet that’s been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or lined with parchment paper. Toast buns in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
- In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, sautéed the onion and garlic until fragrant and onions start to turn translucent, about 2 minutes. Add the ground beef and start to break it up with a wooden spoon or spatula into several equal size pieces as it combines with the onion and garlic mixture.
- Continue to break the beef up into smaller and smaller pieces as it browns. The beef is ready when it is all brown with no signs of pink and starting to crisp. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread a few teaspoons of the prepared special sauce on each toasted bun.
- Sprinkle the special sauce with a little cheese.
- Top with 3-4 tablespoons of beef mixture before sprinkling with more cheese.
- Place pizzas in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- To serve, top each pizza with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, chopped pickle, bacon bits and a drizzle of special sauce.
