When they come home hungry, you’ll be ready! This After School Snack Board is full of nutritious foods, fun snacks, and even a sweet treat or two. It’s the perfect way to help your little scholars refuel after a long day of learning and so fun for any after school play date!

Snack boards are such a fun, easy way to please everyone. With little to no cooking rehired, they’re the ultimate mom hack because offer a variety of snacks so kids can learn to choose a variety and balance healthy fruits and vegetables with treats like cookies and candies.

Use what you have on hand, and get the kids involved. It’s a great way to entertain and teach at the same time!

After School Snack Board Ingredients and Supplies

Ingredients:

  • Hummus
  • Peanut butter
  • Snack Mix (made with peanuts, mini pretzels, chocolate chips and M&M’s)
  • Cheese cubes
  • Celery pieces
  • Apple slices
  • Mandarin orange segments
  • Green grape halves
  • Strawberry halves
  • Goldfish crackers
  • Dried cranberries
  • Yogurt covered pretzels
  • Mini chocolate chip cookies
  • Snack Balls (this recipe is from my Brilliant Bites cookbook, but you could also make my No-Bake Energy Bites or Monster Cookie Balls)

Supplies:

How to Make an After School Snack Board

  • Use a wood board or serving platter of your desired size and shape to build the snack board on.
  • Start by placing the hummus, peanut butter and snack mix in small serving bowls on the board.
  • Place the cheese cubes in the center of the bowls on the board.
  • Arrange the celery, apple slices, mandarin oranges, green grapes, and strawberries across the board.
  • Place the Goldfish crackers, dried cranberries, yogurt covered pretzels, mini chocolate chip cookies and snack balls in the remaining gaps on the board.
  • Serve and enjoy!

How to Prep in Advance

If you want prep the snack board in advance, leave any crunchy crackers, nuts, cookies, chips, etc. off of the board initially so they don’t get soggy and then cover in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator. Once you’re ready to serve, add the remaining snacks to the board!

Instructions

  1. Use a wood board or serving platter of your desired size and shape to build the snack board on.
  2. Start by placing the hummus, peanut butter and snack mix in small serving bowls on the board.
  3. Place the cheese cubes in the center of the bowls on the board.
  4. Arrange the celery, apple slices, mandarin oranges, green grapes, and strawberries across the board.
