This Kicking Mezcal Mule is a tasty twist on a Moscow Mule. It has the perfect balance of smoky and sweet with a little heat!
This cocktail wins me over every time! I love mezcal and Moscow Mules so when Brandon created this cocktail for me one night, it was love at first sip. It’s smoky and slightly sweet with a nice spice from the ginger beer and cayenne. Everyone that we’ve shared this cocktail with has really enjoyed it, even those who think they don’t like mezcal!
If you’ve never tried mezcal, you might wonder what it tastes like. It’s a Mexican spirit that is in the same family as tequila, but oh so different in taste. It’s complex and smoky with a slight sweetness. Sipping mezcal on its own is impressive. Mixing it into a beautifully balanced cocktail is the way to enjoy it, in my opinion.
Swapping the vodka for mezcal in this variation of a Moscow Mule results in a surprisingly delicious cocktail where the rich smokiness of the mezcal balances the ginger and passion fruit so nicely while allowing the spice from the cayenne to really tantalize the taste buds and have them begging for more. It makes for a fantastic sip!
I hope y’all enjoy this Kicking Mezcal Mule as much as we do. It’s simple to make and extremely enjoyable to drink. Cheers!
