The Skinny on Dipping
I probably don’t have to sell you on the virtues of the crostini. They’re like giant croutons that you smother is delicious toppings. What’s not to love? Well, I’m here to teach you how to bake crostini so they come out perfect every time. It’s so simple, too. Making homemade crostini take almost no time, and the payoff is huge. Perfectly crispy bread slices just ready for dipping and topping. Dip one in this hot and bubbly Skillet Caprese Dip, or smear it with roasted garlic for an incredibly easy, incredibly flavorful appetizer your family and guests will rave about. Or, you know, eat them as is with your favorite lunch salad for a bit of a treat for your tastebuds. You can’t go wrong!
How to Bake Crostini
First, preheat the oven to 375°F. While the oven heats, slice the baguette on the diagonal into 1/4-inch thick slices with a serrated knife. Then brush each slice on both sides with olive oil. Place the slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined, rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 6-8 minutes, until lightly toasted and golden brown around the crust. Once toasty, remove them from the oven and sprinkle lightly with sea salt. Ta-da! That’s it! Enjoy dipping!

Hi,
Could you please tell me what type of bread to use? I have a loaf of French bread in my freezer that I need to use, would this work? I’d love to try and make some of this. 😋
Thanks!
Hi Brenda! Any elongated crusty baguette would be great to make this crostini with. A French baguette is perfect! Enjoy!
