This board is such a fun and easy way to serve a crowd effortlessly. No last-minute cooking (who wants to turn on the oven in the summer, anyway?). No fussy prep. What’s a Liege-Style Waffle?
If you’re not familiar with liege-style waffles, you’re in for a treat! Made with pearl sugar folded into the dough, these waffles develop irresistible caramelized sugar pockets as they cook, creating a crisp, sweet, slightly sticky exterior with a soft, rich, pastry-like center. Traditionally enjoyed warm as Belgian street food, they’re delicious all on their own—but dressed up with sweet toppings, they’re simply irresistible.
Y’all know I’m a fan of the homemade waffle. But in this case, the store-bought ones are so easy and so delicious, there’s no reason to go to so much work. Everything about this board is designed for ease and deliciousness! Simple homemade touches like fresh whipped cream can be a lovely touch, too!

Quick Tips!
- Frozen Liege-style waffles make the best shortcut! You’ll find several great options in the freezer section at many grocery stores. Simply warm them according to the package directions before adding them to the board so they’re soft on the inside with their signature caramelized exterior. They’re delicious all on their own, but even better loaded up with your favorite toppings!
