We’ve got some big brothers-in-training and thankfully they’re learning from the best!

Big Brothers-In-Training

Yep, we did it again! Baby #4 is due in November and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Let me go ahead and answer some of the questions we get asked almost every time we tell someone we’re expecting:

Were you trying? Yes, we’ve always wanted a large family and this little blessing was prayed for and we’re so thankful God has blessed us once again.

Are you sure it’s just one? Yes, one little blessing! Very different first ultrasound compared to the one where we learned we were having twins! 😉

Going for that girl? No, we’re going for a healthy child. We would be thrilled with a boy or a girl! We’ve got the boy thing down with everything he would ever need ready to go and how fun it would be for the boys to have another brother! Talk about crazy x 4! A little girl would be a wonderful addition and would be well protected by her big brothers her entire life. And I’m sure she would have Dada wrapped around her little finger from the moment she’s born. Can’t wait to meet him or her!

Are you going to find out the gender this time? No, we love the surprise of finding out the gender when the baby is born. One of life’s most amazing surprises! We’ll find out in November!

Will it be another B name? hmmmm…great question! We shall see! Any name suggestions?

Are you done after this one?! Geez! Yes, this will probably be our last child. Never say never, but 4 feels great to us. I’m treating this pregnancy as my last and we’ll cherish each moment with this baby the same as we did when the boys were babies just knowing in the back of our minds that this will probably be the last time for some of those precious baby moments and milestones. Pass the tissues!

Big Brothers-In-Training

I can only imagine the comments that are going to start coming our way once I start showing more! We already get “wow, you’ve got your hands full” at least a few times a day. And when we told my great aunt we were expecting #4, the first words out of her mouth were “do y’all know how this happens?!?”. Lol!

To be honest, we’re not at all afraid of having 4 kids under the age of 5. We had 3 under 2 years old at one point with all 3 in diapers. If we survived that, having just one in diapers has to be a breeze. 😉 Sure, we’ll have to plan a little more logistically, but we’re already outnumbered as parents, so what’s one more?! 😉 Kidding!

I know a lot of people worry about being able to love another child, especially when they’re expecting their second. I never worried about this as I just trusted that my heart would grow with each one and that it has! I’ve already felt my heart double in size since the moment we found out we were expecting this little one. So much love already and we haven’t even met him or her.

We’ve been talking about the baby a lot with the boys and they seem pretty excited! Baker definitely gets it and is very, very inquisitive about how and when the baby will come out of me! Fun times! The twins love babies and get very giddy every time we talk about the baby. Now that my belly is definitely starting to pop out, they love patting and kissing all over it. So sweet! This baby is going to be smothered in love once he or she is born!

I have one symptom that has been consistent with all three of my pregnancies and is a sure sign that I’m pregnant. Get ready for this: I have an aversion to sweets! Yes, I said sweets! We’re talking cookies, brownies, ice cream, donuts, anything sweet! I literally gag thinking about them. Craziness, y’all! My teeth are all sweet teeth so the moment I gag at the thought of something sweet, I know I’m knocked up. I’ve definitely stomached a few sweets here and there to be social or for recipe testing purposes, but I’d much prefer a bag of potato chips or popcorn for dessert. I’m starting to get a few sweet cravings back, but still very much craving all things savory. So crazy!

My top cravings right now are: french fries, peanut butter stuffed pretzels, baby carrots dipped in hummus, meat and unsweetened iced tea with lots of lemons. I never drink iced tea, so that’s a new one for me. Loving it though!

Big Brothers-In-Training

The first trimester was pretty exhausting. I’m sure it’s probably because I’m a bit busier this time around and a little older. It threw me off for a few weeks because all I wanted to do was sleep (like 17 hours a day!), but I think I’m gaining back more and more energy every day. Hooray! I’ve started going to bed much earlier and taking an hour nap each afternoon, which helps me get through the day.

When I’m pregnant I’m pretty laid back on most things except for protein, water and exercising. I eat 100 grams of protein a day, drink at least 100 ounces of water a day and try to exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. I did this with my previous pregnancies and felt great up until the day the boys were born.

So that’s our exciting news! So far so great! The baby is growing right on track and my belly is not holding back. We feel so blessed and thankful for this little miracle and can’t wait to welcome him or her into our family this fall.

Thanks for your love and support of our crazy little growing family!

xoxo,
