Description

These Sake Sangria recipes will take your take-out sushi night to the next level! Cucumber Ginger Sake Sangria and Red Sake Sangria make a delicious addition to your sushi night in. Kanpai!


Ingredients

Cucumber Ginger Sake Sangria

  • 1 large seedless cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 (750ml) white wine (I used riesling)
  • 1 (300ml) bottle chilled dry sparkling sake
  • Ice, for serving

Red Sake Sangria

  • 1 (750ml) bottle red wine (I used Merlot)
  • 1 (300ml) bottle sake
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup fresh blackberries
  • Half of an orange, sliced into wedges
  • Ice cubes, to serve
  • Fresh mint leaves, to garnish

Instructions

Cucumber Ginger Sake Sangria

  1. Slice the cucumber in half. Chop one half into pieces and add them to a blender. Slice the other half into thin slices to float and garnish with.
  2. Add the fresh ginger and lemon juice to the blender with the cucumber. Blend until smooth. Pour through a medium mesh strainer into a large pitcher.
  3. Add the white wine. Drop in the cucumber slices. Stir in the sparkling sake just before serving.
  4. Serve over ice.

Red Sake Sangria

  1. Mix the wine, sake, and orange juice in a large pitcher.
  2. Drop in the blackberry and orange wedges.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Serve over ice. Garnish with a few mint leaves.
