Description

Wavy lasagna noodles, a simple marinara sauce, ground beef and loads of mozzarella and parmesan make this Easy Cheesy Lasagna Skillet your new weeknight go-to!

Ingredients

  • 9 ounces wavy lasagna noodles, broken
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 3/4 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with salt and pepper until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Add garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 30 seconds, then reduce heat to medium.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked noodles and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water, 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing to loosen the pasta and bring the sauce together, until it’s as saucy as you like.
  6. Dollop the ricotta over the top, then gently fold it in slightly, leaving some creamy pockets throughout.
  7. Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan evenly over everything.
  8. Cover and cook on low until the cheese is melted, about 5–10 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
