Description

Slightly crisp around the edges, soft and chewy inside with melting chocolate in every bite, these Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies are the real deal. Simple and simply delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper (or bake the cookies in batches).
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and both sugars on medium speed until well combined. (You can also beat by hand or use a hand mixer.)
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and beat on medium speed until well incorporated. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop 1-tablespoon-size portions of cookie dough a few inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets. Press a few chocolate chips into each scoop of cookie dough.
  5. Bake the cookies for about 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown and starting to crisp around the edges. Let the cookies cool completely.
