Save those nails and let a handful of this crunchy, chewy, sweet and salty Olympics Snack Mix get you through those tense Olympic moments! It’s a sure winner!

Ingredients

Snack Mix:

  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 (16 ounce) package vanilla candy coating, divided
  • Confetti sprinkles, 1 (1 ounce) package each of blue, black, red, yellow, and green, divided
  •  ¼ cup Wilton Sprinkles, stars
  • 1 cup Froot Loops cereal
  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate M&Ms (combination of blue, brown, red, yellow and green)
  • 1 (7oz) package Lifesaver Gummies

Mini Olympic Torches:

  • 25 Bugles
  • â…“ cup melted vanilla candy coating
  • red sugar sprinkles
  • yellow sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. To make the Mini Olympic Torches: Melt enough candy coating according to package directions to have about ⅓ cup of melted candy coating. Dip the large end of a Bugle in melted candy coating then immediately in yellow sugar sprinkles. Barely dip the top of the yellow-coated portion in the melted candy coating and then immediately in red sugar sprinkles. Lay on parchment paper to set completely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine Rice Chex cereal, Cheerios cereal, pretzel sticks and peanuts.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl or the container the candy coating comes in, melt the candy coating according to package directions, usually 90 seconds to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth. Be sure not to over melt the candy coating as it will burn and become too thick to stir and coat the mix evenly.
  4. Pour the melted candy coating over the ingredients in the large bowl and toss to coat with a large spoon. Ingredients should be evenly coated in the candy coating. Immediately sprinkle ½ of the  confetti sprinkles over the mixture in the bowl. Stir gently to mix them throughout.
  5. Spread the mixture out in an even layer on a parchment lined baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with the remaining confetti sprinkles, sprinkle stars, Fruit Loops, and M&Ms. Lay the Lifesaver Gummies and Mini Olympic Torches on the mixture.
  6. Allow the snack mix to cool completely. Break apart to serve out of a large bowl or jar.
  7. Store in an airtight container or plastic bag for up to a week.
