How to Roast Chickpeas

Description

Roasted Chickpeas add texture and flavor to salads and make a delicious snack. In this Basics by The BakerMama, I teach you how to roast chickpeas to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 (15 t0 16 ounce) can chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a sheet pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Drain, rinse, and thoroughly dry the chickpeas. Place the chickpeas in a bowl.
  3. Drizzle the chickpeas with the olive oil and then sprinkle with oregano, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir to coat the chickpeas evenly.
  4. Spread the chickpeas in an even layer on the prepared sheet pan.
  5. Roast until golden brown and crispy, about 20 to 30 minutes, tossing every 10 minutes. Let cool on the sheet pan.
