Make the best fudgy Skillet Brownie with simple pantry ingredients. Rich, chocolatey, and baked in one cast iron skillet, it’s the perfect dessert for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- flaky sea salt (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet over low heat until melted. Remove from heat.
- Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
- Whisk in the sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla. Whisk until glossy.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
- Fold in the remaining 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Smooth batter in skillet.
- Bake for 24-26 minutes until edges are set and the top is crackly with a slightly soft center.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt, if desired.
- Let cool 10 minutes. Top with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and/or whipped cream to share or let each person scoop their own serving and top as they wish.
