Description
Moist, sweet banana bread studded with semi-sweet chocolate chips, this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is just the right amount of decadent.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 overripe bananas, mashed (about 1 and 1/2 cups)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus more for garnishing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and let cool slightly. Whisk in the sugar and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the flour and baking soda. Fold in the mashed bananas until just combined. Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan. Garnish with more chocolate chips, if desired.
- Place on the middle or lower rack of the oven and bake for 60-65 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the top of the bread is golden brown before the middle is completely baked through, tent the loaf pan with foil and continue to bake until the bread is cooked all the way through.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan completely before removing to a serving platter to slice and enjoy!
