Description
With naturally sweet strawberries and chocolate candy coating, these Heart-Shaped Chocolate Covered Strawberries are a scrumptious Valentines’ Day Treat you’ll love to share.
Ingredients
- 12 large strawberries (the pointier the better!)
- 1 (10 ounce) package chocolate melting wafers, melted
- 1 (10 ounce) package white vanilla flavored melting wafers, melted
- Pink gel food coloring, whisked into the melted white wafers
- Valentine’s Day-themed nonpareil mix, for decorating
Instructions
- Wash and dry the strawberries. Using a small, sharp knife, cut a small V-shape slice into the top center of each strawberry, removing the stem.
- Melt the wafers according to package directions in deep bowls or jars for dipping. Whisk a few drops of the pink gel food coloring to the melt white wafers until of desired pinkness.
- Using a fondue fork, skewer, or regular fork inserted into the bottom of the strawberry, dip into the melted wafers and let any excess drip off.
- Transfer dipped strawberries to a parchment-lined sheet pan and decorate accordingly with a chocolate or pink drizzle or festive sprinkles. If wanting to drizzle the melted wafers, transfer some to a plastic baggie and cut off a small triangle from the bottom corner of the bag to make it easier to drizzle evenly.
- Let set at room temperature until the chocolate is set.
- Store chocolate covered strawberries in a single layer, covered loosely for air circulation so they don’t sweat, in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
