Description
Store-bought cinnamon roll dough wrapped around a double stuffed Oreo and deep fried until golden. These Cinnamon Roll Fried Oreos are a state fair food worth staying home for!
Ingredients
- 1 (12.4 ounce) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing (8-count)
- 8 Double Stuf Oreo cookies
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- Additional crushed Oreo cookies, for garnishing
- Oil, for frying (vegetable or canola oil works well)
Instructions
- Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate them on a work surface. Reserve the icing for later.
- Using a sharp knife, carefully slice each cinnamon roll horizontally in half to create a top and bottom piece. Flatten them out just a bit to make them rounder.
- Place one Oreo on the bottom half and then position the top half over it. Gently press and pinch the edges together so the dough fully seals around the Oreo. Repeat with remaining cinnamon rolls and Oreos.
- In a large deep skillet, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium heat to 350°F.
- Carefully, lower a few stuffed cinnamon rolls into the heated oil, avoiding overcrowding. They should sizzle immediately and start to float to the top.
- Fry for about 1 minute per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off the excess oil.
- Warm the reserved icing for 10 seconds or until of drizzling consistency.
- Dust the fried cinnamon rolls with powdered sugar, drizzling with icing, and then sprinkle with crushed Oreos. Serve warm.
