Description

This Top-Your-Own Oatmeal Board takes wholesome oatmeal and adds an array of delicious toppings for a creative, customized breakfast everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • Steel cut oats or regular oats
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • ½ a Honeycrisp apple, diced
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons jam or fruit spread
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • â…“ cup toasted coconut chips
  • â…“ cup chopped dried apricots
  • â…“ cup dried cranberries
  • â…“ cup candied walnuts
  • â…“ cup toasted pecan pieces
  • â…“ cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons crushed pistachios
  • ½ cup granola
  • â…“ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oatmeal in an Instant Pot or on the stovetop. Reference my How to Make Steel Cut Oatmeal post for instructions.
  2. While the oatmeal is cooking, wash and prep all of the fruits. Chop any other toppings, if needed.
  3. Fill small serving bowls with toppings and arrange them on the board, reserving space for the pot of cooked oatmeal.
  4. Place the warm oatmeal in pot on the board. If you’re using the same pot the oatmeal was cooked in, but a hot pad underneath it to protect the board and potholders beside it so that people don’t burn themselves scooping their oatmeal.
  5. Serve and let each person build their own oatmeal creation. Enjoy!
